3.  PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION:

The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:

4.  DESCRIPTION:

Field of the invention:

[0001] The present disclosure generally relates to the technical field of an online teaching field, in specific relates to an online teaching system that monitors and assesses students interaction with the online class.

Background of the invention:

[0002] Traditionally, teachers use chalk and talk teaching approach, in which the teacher conveys information to students by talking to them and by writing on a blackboard. In the traditionally method of teaching students have to go to school to get the education. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, an unprecedented number of children, youth and adults are not attending schools or universities. Governments in lots of countries have announced or implemented the closure of educational institutions in an attempt to control the spread of the disease.

[0003] Many educational institutions have opted the online tutoring or online classes to minimize the educational disruption and facilitate the continuity of learning. However, even this way teaching has many issues. Teachers have difficulty in monitoring and interacting with students. Teachers are unable to get accurate information on whether the students are able to understand the classes or not. Students have difficulty in keeping up with online courses, as they lose interest because there is less possibility for interaction between teacher and students.

[0004] One more issue that the teachers face is, when the student is unable to respond to the question that teacher has asked because of poor internet connection or any other external reasons.

[0005] An existing system uses a camera above each classroom to monitor the students in the class and analysing their behaviour during class. The camera captures the facial expressions of the students then sends to deep learning server. The deep-learning server uses deep-learning algorithms to identify each student’s face and classify their behaviour

into five categories such as listening, answering the questions, writing, interacting with other students, or sleeping.

[0006] The data collected by this system on the behaviour of the students is then transmitted to teacher or parent mobiles through a software application. Further, the system also records the students attendance rate when the camera recognizes the students face. However, this system is only suitable as long as the students would go to the school as the camera that analyses students behaviour is fixed above the class rooms.

[0007] Even though the online classes has minimized the educational disruption and facilitated the continuity of learning. However, the proper class monitoring and proper interactions are the major issues faced by both teachers and students.

[0008] Therefore, there is a need for a system that allows teacher to monitor whether a student understands a topic during the class based on facial expression of the student. There is a need a system that analysis quick response from the student for the question raised by the teacher. A system is needed that can rate the student’s understanding based on facial expression and quick response from the student.

Objectives of the invention:

[0009] The primary objective of the invention is to provide an online teaching system that is capable of scanning student’s facial expression and transmit this data to teacher, indicating whether the student understands a topic during class.

[0010] The other objective of the invention is to provide a digital pad for real time interaction between teacher and student during class, where student is allowed answers the question raised by teacher.

[0011] Another objective of the invention is to provide an online teaching system that allows teacher to assign tasks to student and even send important information to parents to their mobile.

[0012] Another objective of the invention is to provide an online teaching system that ranks the students understanding of a topic on the bases of the facial expression of the student and quick response given by student on digital pad.

[0013] Another objective of the invention is to provide an online teaching system that analysis the facial expression of student using artificial intelligence image algorithm and transmits this data to teacher.

[0014] Yet another objective of the invention is to provide an online teaching system which allows teacher to unlock digital pad during classes through a maters application.

[0015] Further objective of the invention is to provide an online learning system based on artificial intelligence that automatically records attendance of the students by scanning their faces.

[0039] The teacher assigns at least one task through the task module 102 using a teacher’s end application. The teacher’s end application screen, displays the students real time response to the at least one task, the time taken to respond to the at least one task by the students, the facial expressions of the students, and the real time ranking of the students in the form of either numbers or percentages. The online teaching system 100 can directly send the ranks of the students to their parent’s devices which provide information on the student’s interaction in the online class. The teacher is allowed to send suggestion to the parents through the online teaching system 100 on how they can help the students to concentrate on the online classes.

[0040] Numerous advantages of the present disclosure may be apparent from the discussion above. In accordance with the present disclosure, the online teaching system with a digital pad allows real time efficient monitoring of the students.

[0041] The online teaching system is capable of scanning student’s facial expression and transmitting this data to teacher, indicating whether the student understands a topic during class. The digital pad provides a real time interaction between teacher and student during class, where students are allowed to answer the questions raised by the teacher.

[0042] Since the digital pad is connected through a master application, the teacher is able to see the written answers in real time. The activation and deactivation of the digital pad is in teacher’s control via master application.

[0043] Further, the online teaching system allows the teacher to assign tasks to student and even send important information to parents to their mobile. The ranking of the students allows the teachers to focus on those students who have low ranking and needs more attention. As this system records the attendance automatically and stores in the memory module, so that the teacher doesn’t have to maintain additional record. The memory module is capable of storing the students ranks, the tasks send by the teacher and the answers written by the students.

[0044] It will readily be apparent that numerous modifications and alterations can be made to the processes described in the foregoing examples without departing from the principles underlying the invention, and all such modifications and alterations are intended to be embraced by this application.
